West Virginia University wrestler Zeke Moisey (125) posted his fourth straight dual-match win

Morgantown - MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University wrestler Zeke Moisey (125) posted his fourth straight dual-match win of the season to move up in the national rankings, as announced by wrestling publications FloWrestling, Intermat and The Open Mat on Tuesday.
Redshirt senior Jacob A. Smith also remains in this week's national rankings.
A native of Northampton, Pennsylvania, Moisey appears at No. 14 via The Open Mat. He also checks in at No. 16 in both FloWrestling and Intermat's rankings at 125 pounds, moving up four spots in FloWrestling's Top-20 Poll as well as three spots in Intermat's.
The 125-pound wrestler set the two in Thursday's win over then-No. 18 Oklahoma, winning by fall over then-No. 17 Christian Moody in 1 minute, 11 seconds. Three days later, Moisey claimed an 11-2 major decision over North Dakota State's Paul Bianchi. He notched four takedowns in seven minutes to post his fourth straight dual-match win of the season and his 15th victory overall. Moisey was named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, as he leads the team with four pins and 16 takedowns on the year.
Smith is ranked nationally in the top 15 by a trio of media outlets at 197 pounds. The Charleston, West Virginia, native is ranked No. 12 by FloWrestling, appears at No. 13 according to Intermat and checks in at No. 15 via The Open Mat.
The 197-pound wrestler notched a 2-0 record in Big 12 action last week, picking up a 3-1 decision over Oklahoma's Andrew Dixon and a 6-5 decision over North Dakota State's Cordell Eaton, respectively. Smith currently sports a 6-3 overall mark on the year and holds a 3-1 dual-match record this season.
After notching two upset wins over ranked opponents in Big 12 play last week, the Mountaineers (3-3, 2-1 Big 12) sneaked in at No. 25 in Intermat's Dual Meet Top-25 Poll. West Virginia also received 12 votes in this week's USA Today/NWCA Coaches Top-25 Poll.
The Mountaineers will take a week off from competition before embarking on their first Big 12 road trip of the season. West Virginia will travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma, for a match against No. 3 Oklahoma State on Friday, Jan. 19, followed by another Big 12 dual at Iowa State on Sunday, Jan. 21.
