The defending champion Mountaineers fell to two-seed Texas 68-55 Sunday night, marking the end of their repeat bid.
Texas advances to play Baylor for the title Monday night.
After an energetic win in the quarterfinals over Oklahoma City, leading scorer Naomi Davenport said West Virginia didn't have the legs to stick with the Longhorns, who logged 11 scorers in the game. The Mountaineers shot 2-23 from beyond the arc.
Now West Virginia waits to learn its NCAA tournament fate. The women's basketball selection show is March 12.
