The West Virginia University women's soccer team fell to No. 25 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll released today. The Mountaineer fell out of this week's Soccer America poll.
WVU went 1-1-0 at the Penn State Invitational, falling 5-0 to Penn State and defeating George Mason, 3-0. The Mountaineers' 13 shots on-goal against George Mason are the most since attempting 13 against Providence in October 2008.
The Mountaineers return to action on Thursday, Sept. 1, for a 7 p.m. contest against No. 18 Ohio State. That contest has been deemed a "Dollar Night" with all tickets, hot dogs, popcorn and Coca-Cola products available for purchase for just one dollar.
Thursday's match is also a "Gold Rush" with fans encouraged to wear gold in support of the Mountaineers. Fans who wear the official 2011 WVU fan shirt can enter for a chance to win a year's supply of Papa John's pizza.
