Women's Tennis: WVU Wraps Up First Road Trip

On Sunday afternoon, the West Virginia
women's tennisteam completed its final day of play in the UNC-Wilmington
CollegiateInvitational in Wilmington, N.C.

In Flight A singles play, freshman Ikttesh Chahal fell in ahard fought
match against Georgia Tech's Vicky Sekely, 6-3, 6-4.

Sophomore Melis Tanik defeated Olga Blank of UNC-Wilmington,6-3, 6-3 in
Flight B singles.

Tanik was the most successfulMountaineer of the weekend, as she scored
three singles victories and was apart of two doubles victories.

WVU will resume its fall seasonplay on Sept. 30 when they head to Wake
Forest, N.C. to compete in the Wake Forest Invitational, which is also a
three day event.
