Redshirt senior Kate Harrison has been named West Virginia University's Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance in last Friday's Penn State National in University Park, Pa.

The Toronto, Ontario, native came in first place out of 268 runners competing in the 6k race, leading the No. 19 Mountaineers to first place over 28 other squads, including No. 20 Penn State, No. 26 Duke and Connecticut. She finished the race in 20:50.

Her placement helped the team to a season-low mark of 45 points and its first team victory in a major invitational since the 2009 season. It was her second first-place mark of the year as she accomplished the feat at the Toledo Bubble Buster on Sept. 23.
