MORGANTOWN -
To
celebrate the recent completion of Dreamswork Field, the new training
facility for West Virginia University women's soccer, an open house is
scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 30, from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Earlier
this month, the Mountaineers stepped foot in their new state-of-the-art
facility that houses a custom players locker room, coaches office
space, players lounge with kitchenette, athletic training room that
includes a hydrotherapy pool, hall of honor, equipment and apparel
storage rooms, and public restrooms.
"We
invite our fans and friends of the program to stop in and check out the
new women's soccer training facility," says Matt Borman, Director of
Capital Campaigns & Major Gifts for the Mountaineer Athletic Club.
"It truly is a first-class facility to help our student-athletes win
championships."
This
new soccer facility sits next to the team's training site that features
the same custom, natural grass surface as the game field at Dick Dlesk
Soccer Stadium. Dreamswork Field is located across from Dick Dlesk on
Monongahela Blvd. Limited parking will be available to fans touring the
facility. After the open house is completed, all cars must be moved from
the lot.
Following
the open house, fans are encouraged to help cheer on the 14th-ranked
Mountaineers in their quest to defend their BIG EAST Championship. West
Virginia, the top seed in the BIG EAST American Division, will face the
winner of St. John's/Seton Hall at 1 p.m. in a BIG EAST quarterfinal
match at Dick Dlesk.
West
Virginia finished the regular season with a 14-4-0 record, 10-1-0 mark
in BIG EAST play. The Mountaineers have won 12 of their last 13 matches.
