MORGANTOWN -

West Virginia women's soccer player Sara Keane was named to Soccer America's Team of the Week Tuesday evening for her efforts in helping the Mountaineers secure a BIG EAST division title last weekend.

 

Keane made a career-high eight saves in 90 minutes against the Pitt Panthers.  The redshirt freshman picked up her eighth shutout of the season while facing 16 shots and five corner kicks on the night. With the victory, Keane pushed her season record to 14-4-0.

 

The Mt. Laurel, N.J., native was also named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week for the second straight week. Keane and the Mountaineers open up BIG EAST Championship play with a quarterfinal match on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 1 p.m.
