The West Virginia University women's soccer team moved up in the national rankings, going to No. 9 in this week's Soccer America Top 25 and checking in at No. 10 in today's National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.

West Virginia holds a record of 17-4-0 after its 2-0 blanking of Louisville in the BIG EAST finals. The Mountaineers have advanced to the NCAA tournament in 12 consecutive seasons, advancing as far as the Elite Eight in 2007. WVU will play host to Virginia Tech in the opening round of the NCAA tournament on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m.

Senior forward Blake Miller and junior defender Bry McCarthy were each named to national teams of the week. Miller was named to Our Game Magazine's Team of the Week, while McCarthy was a TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week selection. The duo led the Mountaineers to the 2011 BIG EAST Championship – their third title in the last five seasons.
