West Virginia forward Kevin Jones was recognized by the Big East on its weekly honor roll for his performances against Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Saturday.
The senior poured in 22 points and eight rebounds despite only playing 26 minutes in the game, the second-fewest he's contributed so far this season.
Jones was in early foul trouble and spent the majority of the first half on the bench, but returned to the game on fire in the final 20 minutes. He finished the game 11-of-16 from the floor after making his first seven field goals.
After getting called for two early fouls, Jones didn't commit another for the remainder of the game.
Jones performed even better in Monday's win over Tennessee Tech with 25 points and 14 rebounds, his sixth double double in his senior season. That game did not count toward this week's conference honors.
Louisville guard Russ Smith was named the Big East player of the week and Connecticut's Andre Drummond took rookie of the week honors.
