Three WVU Assistants Listed on Arizona Official Site

Posted: Updated:
MORGANTOWN -

UPDATE: Each coach's bio page has been removed from ArizonaWildcats.com since this story was published Tuesday evening.

Original Story: Jeff Casteel, Bill Kirelawich and David Lockwood are all listed on West Virginia's official athletic website as Mountaineer assistants. They're also listed on Arizona's, they just aren't quite as easy to find.

In preparation for Wednesday's staff announcements, the Wildcats threw together biographies for each of the (former) WVU assistants. They left them in draft mode so the pages won't show up if you go to their coaches directory, but type in the URL and they appear.

By replacing the name of another coach with Casteel, Kirelawich or Lockwood, you can view each coach's bio.

Perhaps the best part of each page is that the first sentence for Casteel states that he was hired on Jan. 11, a day after what you're currently reading was written. It reads, "Veteran defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel was appointed to take over Arizona's defense on Jan. 11. He'll also coach linebackers in the second level of UA's scheme.

Kirelawich's even says he was hired in January of 2010, which is quite odd and puts a considerable amount of doubt into who exactly was coaching Bruce Irvin and Julian Miller the past two seasons in Morgantown.

Lockwood's profile is a little more vague, simply stating that he was hired in January, with no year specified.

Meanwhile, neither school has made any sort of announcement publicly, though in addition to Arizona's scheduled announcement Wednesday, the Mountaineers are said to be quickly finalizing deals with replacements. It is important that head coach Dana Holgorsen has a staff in place prior to national signing day so that defensive recruits know who they'll be playing for.

For now, there are two official websites that lay claim to Casteel, Kirelawich and Lockwood, and on each team's page, the three assistants are dressed in their WVU old gold and blue. Surely those threads will be replaced at Arizona's earliest convenience.
