Rachael Burnett of the swimming team was named the WVU
Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance at the BIG EAST
Championships this past weekend.
The junior earned the BIG EAST Women's Swimmer of the Year for the
second-consecutive season with three individual titles and one relay
title.
Burnett was a part of the 800 free relay team that finish first in
7:06.87, breaking a BIG EAST, school and pool record, while also
finishing first in the 500 free with a time of 4:39.63. That time broke
BIG EAST, school and pool records as well. Burnett also finished first
in the 200 free (1:46.23) and 1650 free (16:13.94). Burnett's 1650 free
time broke BIG EAST and school records as well.
