Track and Field Athletes Head to ECAC, Swarthmore

Seeking regional qualifying marks, select West Virginia track and field athletes head to the ECAC Championships in Princeton, NJ, and the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet in Swarthmore, Pa., this weekend.

 

         The ECAC Championships run from Friday, May 11, through Sunday, May 13, at Princeton's William Weaver Track and Field Stadium. Junior thrower Heather Adams will compete in the discus throw Friday at 5:30 p.m., while redshirt junior Aubrey Moskal will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 7 p.m.

 

         On Saturday, senior Meghan Mock will compete in the long jump slated for noon, while senior Terina Miller and Adams compete in the hammer throw at 3 p.m.  On Sunday, junior Sydney Cummings will compete in the high jump at 10 a.m., while sophomore Stormy Nesbit competes in the triple jump at 11 a.m.

 

         All results will be posted at lancertiming.com or ecacsports.com.

 

         The Swarthmore Last Chance Meet takes place Monday, May 14. Senior Chelsea Carrier-Eades will compete in the javelin throw at approximately 4 p.m. and the high jump shortly after.

 

         Redshirt sophomore Chené Townsend is set for the 100-meter hurdles at 6 p.m., while Hallie Portner, Jordan Hamric and Jessica O'Connell compete in the 1,500-meter run at approximately 7:30 p.m. All results will be posted at the Swarthmore Athletic Department website.

 

         The NCAA East Regional is scheduled from May 24-26 in Jacksonville, Fla. The 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships are set for June 6-9 in Ames, Iowa.
