MORGANTOWN -

Dual-threat quarterback Chavas Rawlins has informed WVU that he is adding his name to the 2013 commitment list.

When reached Friday afternoon, Rawlins confirmed his commitment and stated that he was waiting on a phone call from Holgorsen to talk about joining the Mountaineers.

Rawlins, a long-time WVU target, is a 6'4" signal-caller from Monessen, Pa. His brother, Justice, is a top uncommitted linebacker recruit in the 2014 recruiting class and the pair has previously indicated they'd prefer to attend the same college.

The elder brother received a large amount of interest and offers from BCS programs such as Duke, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Nebraska, North Carolina, Northwestern, Pitt, Purdue, Tennessee and Virginia before ultimately deciding on the Mountaineers.

Rivals.com lists him as the nation's 19th best dual-threat QB.

In 2011, Rawlins and his 4.45 speed lived up to the hype.  He passed for almost 1,000 yards and 12 TD's during his junior season and added another 725 yards and seven scores with his legs.  If that wasn't enough, he also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

Rawlins is the third WVU commitment from the Keystone State in the 2013 class, joining running back DeShawn Coleman (Hermitage) and linebacker Hodari Christian (McKeesport).  Offensive lineman Marcell Lazard (Bloomfield, N.J. / Bloomfield) also pledged to the Mountaineers last month.
