MORGANTOWN -
West Virginia returns home from back-to-back games in the
state of Texas to host a talented Kansas State team.
This is the final game in a very difficult three-game
stretch for the Mountaineers. After visiting Texas and Texas Tech, WVU hosts
Kansas State at Mountaineer Field.
Kansas State is led by a very good dual-threat quarterback.
Collin Klein is listed below as the 2011 team leader in passing and rushing. He
accounted for 3,059 yards and 40 touchdowns last season.

Kansas State Head Coach Bill Snyder is a legend in that part
of the country. Former Oklahoma and Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Barry Switzer
called Snyder, "He's not the coach of the year, he's not the coach of the
decade, he's the coach of the century."
Snyder served as Kansas State Head Coach from 1989-2005
before retiring. During that retirement, Kansas State named its football
stadium after him.
Snyder came out of retirement for a second stint at Kansas
State in 2009. Three years after returning, Kansas State was once again a
player on the national scene. He led the Wildcats to a 10-3 record in 2011.
Snyder has the right quarterback for his system. Collin
Klein tries to take advantage of what he sees in the opposing defense. If the
opportunity to run the ball presents itself, Klein will take off. He was a
1,000 yard rusher last season.
The Mountaineers should get a lift from playing at home in
this game. It will be their first game in Mountaineer Field in four weeks.
However, Kansas State will be bringing some fans. KSU informed WVU it wants to
use 3,000 of its maximum 3,850 tickets allotted for Big 12 schools in road
games. That does not include the number of Kansas State fans that get tickets
through other outlets.
West Virginia will host Kansas State on October 20.
