MORGANTOWN -

West Virginia continues its 2012 campaign following a home game against TCU by visiting Oklahoma State. The Cowboys are coming off the best season in school history and nearly played in the BCS National Championship game last season.

In fact, Oklahoma State's exclusion from that game is the latest fuel on the fire of a potential college football playoff.

The game at Oklahoma State will be interesting to watch as much for its off the field storylines as the competition that will take place on the field.

WVU Head Coach Dana Holgorsen will return to Stillwater, Oklahoma as well as West Virginia Running Backs Coach Robert Gillespie and Co-Defensive Coordinator Joe DeForest. Holgorsen was Oklahoma State's Offensive Coordinator prior to coming to West Virginia in 2011.

OKLAHOMA STATE COWBOYS

2011 Record – (12-1) Big 12 Conference Champs

Head Coach: Mike Gundy (59-30 Overall)

Stadium: Boone Pickens Stadium

Seating Capacity: 60,218

Returning Starters: 16 (6 on offense, 8 on defense, 2 on special teams)

Leading Passer in 2011: Brandon Weeden (4,727 Yds, 37 TD, 13 INT)

Leading Rusher in 2011: Joseph Randle (1,216 Yds, 24 TD)

Leading Receiver in 2011: Justin Blackmon (1,522 Yds, 18 TD)

Last Meeting vs. WVU: 1987 Sun Bowl (Oklahoma State 35, West Virginia 33)

Record vs. WVU: 1-2

Oklahoma State must replace several offensive weapons including a pair of first round draft picks. Quarterback Brandon Weeden and Wide Receiver Justin Blackmon put up some crazy numbers last season and have now moved on to the NFL.

OSU Head Coach Mike Gundy named true freshman Wes Lunt his starter for the 2012 season following spring practice, but it was a close race with Clint Chelf and J.W. Walsh.

Oklahoma State has to replace five offensive starters from 2011 as well as three defensive starters.

OSU is tough to beat at home. The Cowboys are 33-9 in Stallwater over the last six seasons.

These two schools have not played since the 1987 Sun Bowl when Oklahoma State beat WVU 35-33. However, WVU won the two previous meetings to lead the series 2-1.

West Virginia and Oklahoma State will meet on November 10.
