WVU's Cecil Level Awarded a Scholarship

West Virginia senior cornerback Cecil Level was awarded a scholarship this weekend after putting in a strong camp with the Mountaineers.

Level, who transferred from WVU Tech for his junior season, was a special teams contributor in his first season in Morgantown. He received a lot of praise from head coach Dana Holgorsen for the speed and effort he played with on kickoff and other special teams units.

He was named the special teams champion for the Mountaineers against Maryland and Norfolk State.

WVU cornerbacks coach Daron Roberts said Sunday that Level received the scholarship not only for his work on special teams, but also because he is a hard worker and a team player. The defensive graduate assistant for the Mountaineers, Andrew McGee, echoed those sentiments, calling Level "one of the hardest working players I've been around."

Level, entering his second and final season at West Virginia, tweeted his excitement Sunday evening, saying:

"Still over excited about the news I got on getting that ship today!!! #Blessed Thanking God!!"

The Fayetteville, Ga. native finished his junior season with seven solo tackles and 11 total.
