WVU Falls from Polls

After a gut-wrenching, double overtime loss to TCU yesterday in Morgantown, West Virginia drops out of both the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches' polls.

The Mountaineers have been searching for answers in the past few weeks since falling in back-to-back games at Texas Tech and home against Kansas State.

They found some fight in themselves yesterday at Mountaineer Field when they took on the TCU Horned Frogs, but it proved not to be quite enough when they lost in double-overtime on a controversial two point conversion.

Kansas State remains the top-rated team in the Big 12 coming in at the third spot in both polls.

After a surprisingly close game with Pittsburgh, Notre Dame holds the No. 4 position in both the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches' polls.

Other Notable Big 12 Conference opponents: Oklahoma comes in at No. 13 in the Coaches' Poll and 14 in the AP followed by Texas in at No. 17 in the Coaches' poll and No. 19 in the AP, while Texas Tech rounds out the AP poll at No. 25.

West Virginia will take on Oklahoma State in a 3:30 p.m. road game Nov. 10 in Stillwater, Okla. as the Mountaineers look to stop a losing skid that has reached three.
