Former West Virginia University basketball star Kevin Jones did not take long at all to earn an NBA contract. It took just three games for Jones to show the Cavaliers they needed to sign him.
The Cavaliers signed Jones to a rookie contract, but immediately assigned him back to the Canton Charge.
Jones helped explain the move on twitter, "I'm still gonna b playing for the canton charge, until some playing time is available for me in Cleveland."
Jones is flat out dominating opponents in the development league. He is averaging 27 points and 13.5 rebounds in more than 41 minutes per game with the Canton Charge. Jones also shot an impressive 54 percent in those three games with the Charge.
Jones went undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft, but was signed to a partially guaranteed contract by the Cavaliers shortly after the draft. He participated in the Cavs training camp and was one of three players released on the last day of roster cuts.
To make room for Jones, the Cavaliers released former Notre Dame standout Luke Harangody.
