West Virginia center Joe Madsen is academically ineligible and has not made the trip to New York City with the Mountaineers, a team source confirmed Wednesday.
Madsen, a senior, previously missed the 2010 Champs Sports Bowl in his sophomore season due to being deemed academically ineligible. The Dec. 29 New Era Pinstripe Bowl would have been the Chardon, Ohio native's final game in a Mountaineer uniform.
