MORGANTOWN -
The West Virginia University men's basketball team will look
to end a three-game losing streak tonight against TCU. The two newest members
of the Big 12 will try to turn their seasons around beginning with this
meeting. TCU is winless in conference play while WVU sports a 1-3 record in the
Big 12.
WVU played its last two games, a 69-67 loss at Iowa State
and a 79-52 loss at Purdue, without arguably its most consistent shooter.
Freshman Guard Terry Henderson missed both of those games
due to a sore lower back. He did not make the trip to Iowa State due to the
injury, but traveled to Purdue hoping to be able to play.
"He struggled in practice the day before," Head Coach Bob
Huggins answered when asked if Henderson was a gametime decision at Purdue. "He
also struggled in shootaround that morning."
Henderson is shooting 40 percent from the field and 32
percent from behind the arc.
Sophomore Guard Gary Browne logged 21 minutes against
Purdue, but spent most of the second half sitting on the bench with his right
knee stretched out. Browne injured his ankle at Iowa State and is still
recovering from that injury.
"It's feeling good," Browne said. "I know I will do
everything that I have to do so the ankle will get better and I can help my
team. I can play and I can practice, so I am ready to go."
Both players have been practicing and are expected to play
against TCU.
"They are both fine," Huggins said. "They both got through
practice yesterday and I didn't see any problems."
Henderson and Browne will both likely see some heavy minutes
against TCU now that the Mountaineers are running more of a four-guard lineup.
WVU and TCU will meet at the Coliseum tonight. Tipoff is set
for 7:30.
