West Virginia University baseball hosted their first press conference Jan. 29th before the Kansas basketball game in the WVU Coliseum.
Coach Randy Mazey, outfielders Brady Wilson and Matt Frazer, as well as pitcher Corey Walter addressed the issues of entering the Big 12 and the amount of traveling the team is forced to face this season.
"It may be unprecedented in college baseball with the travel we are facing with. Our home, conference games being two and a half hours away from home. We literally leave Morgantown every Thursday to get on the road," said Coach Mazey.
When asking the players on their thoughts of what the season should bring, Outfielder, Brady Wilson said, "This staff has come in here and made a drastic change to the program with positive mentality and preparing us. Mazey has been to Omaha, he knows what it takes to be successful."
With a new, posiive state-of-mind going into this season, there seems to be a new light within this program. With the new stadium in progress, everything seems to be falling into place for WVU baseball to form into a successful program year in and out.
