CHARLESTON -

Junior college defensive end Dontrill Hyman (Raymond, Miss. / Hinds C.C.) added his name to the 2013 recruiting class on Sunday morning when he committed to the Mountaineers while on his official visit.

WVSports.com Senior Writer Keenan Cummings says it's a big get for the WVU football program.

"West Virginia was searching for a defensive lineman in this class and Hyman fills that need," stated Cummings.  "An explosive pass rusher at the junior college level, the Mountaineers are recruiting Hyman to play off the edge and pressure the quarterback.  He will have three years to play two seasons and is expected to see the field early and often."

Rivals.com lists the 6'4" 265-pound athlete with offers from East Carolina, LA Lafayette, LSU and Mississippi State, in addition to the Mountaineers.

New cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell was his lead recruiter, and he actually formed a previous relationship with Hyman when he recruited him to East Carolina while he was defensive coordinator for the Pirates.

Hyman is the 23rd commitment in the 2013 recruiting class.  He is expected to sign his Letter of Intent on National Signing Day on Wednesday, February 6th.
