Geno Smith Fastest Quarterback at NFL Combine

West Virginia's Tavon Austin posted the fastest 40-yard dash time among the wide receivers working out at the NFL Combine on Sunday. Later in the day, his teammate put up the best mark for a quarterback.

Geno Smith, often underrated as an athlete through his career working out of the pocket, ran a 4.56 in his first attempt before getting a 4.60 in his second run. Both times were better than any other quarterback's run all day.

Smith is part of Group 5 in Sunday's drills, while Austin and Stedman Bailey are working with the Group 4 quarterbacks.

Projected to be the first quarterback off the board in April's NFL Draft, Smith chose to participate in passing drills this weekend, while the other top prospect, USC's Matt Barkley, will not.

West Virginia will hold its own pro day on March 14 in Morgantown.
