The Mountaineer Women, a Big 12 at-large, secured a No. 11-seed and will face sixth-seeded Delaware in the first round of the NCAA Tournamen at the Bob Carpenter Center.

"It is good we got in. To me that says the strength of the league, our reputation and some of the wins we had on the road; we're happy to be in," WVU Coach Mike Carey said.

The tournament bracket has them playing in the Bridgeport Region in Newark, Delaware, Sunday,March 24 at 12:15 ET on ESPN2.

"We got a really good draw. We have to play on Delaware's home floor and that's a good draw for us because it's close so hopefully we can get some fans there," Carey said.

The Mountaineers lost in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament to Oklahoma, ending the season 17-13 overall and 9-9 in the conference.

The Colonial Athletic Association Champions, Delaware, finished their season 30-3 overall.

The winner of Sunday's West Virginia-Delaware matchup will advance to face the winner of Sunday's No. 3-seed North Carolina vs. No. 14-seed Albany matchup on Tuesday, March 26. Sunday's games will air live nationally on ESPN2.
