Ohio Offensive Lineman Becomes Newest WVU Commitment

Updated:
CHARLESTON -

To say the WVU football staff is hot on the recruiting trail right now would be an understatement, as prep offensive lineman Walter Rauterkus (Avon, Ohio) just became the fourth recruit to commit to the Mountaineers within the last week.

Jaylon Myers (7/24), Justin Scott (7/25) and Tyree Owens (7/29) were the three others who added their names to the 2014 class within the last week of July.

Rauterkus is 6'6" 285-pounds and he solidified his pledge with a phone call to lead recruiter Ron Crook and head coach Dana Holgorsen over the weekend.

WVU was the first school to offer the big man, who will likely play offensive tackle on the next level.  In addition to an offer from Ohio University, Rauterkus reportedly received interest from Iowa, Louisville, Purdue and Michigan State.

Rivals.com ranks him as a two-star prospect, while the Cleveland Plain-Dealer listed him as one of Northeast Ohio's top juniors back in February and stated he is a "good technician with quick feet who all plays basketball."
