WVU Women’s Basketball Cracks Top 25

After winning five of their first six Big 12 Conference games, including a pair of wins over ranked opponents, the Mountaineers are ranked No. 18 in the Associated Press Poll this week.

West Virginia has received votes all season, and enter the AP Poll for the first time this year. WVU is currently 16-2 overall, undefeated on the road, and 5-1 in Big 12 play. Last week, the Mountaineers defeated No. 13/11 Iowa State, 73-59, in Ames, and returned home a few days later to defeat Oklahoma, 77-63.

The last time WVU was in the AP top 25 was on Dec. 17, 2012, when the Mountaineers had four-consecutive wins and were ranked No. 24 nationally.

The USA Today Coaches Poll will be announced tomorrow. The Mountaineers return to the court for a two-game road swing, starting at 7:30 p.m. ET, on Wednesday at Texas Tech, and closing out the week with a 4 p.m. ET matchup at Texas on Saturday, Jan. 18.
