GRANVILLE -

Ivan Gonzalez sent a sacrifice fly ball to left field to score the winning run in a 5-4 victory over No. 2 TCU Friday evening at Monongalia County Ballpark.

The Mountaineers took a three-run lead into the ninth inning behind another stellar outing from starting pitcher BJ Myers, but the Horned Frogs found a way to pull even, setting the stage for the walk-off winner.

Jimmy Galusky started the bottom portion of the frame with a double before Brandon White's sac bunt sent the shortstop to third base. After TCU intentionally walked Kyle Gray, Gonzalez came to the plate for the late heroics.

Take a look at interviews with Randy Mazey, Gonzalez and Myers as the Mountaineers improve to 20-12 (7-3) on the season and pull within one game of the Horned Frogs for first place in the Big 12 conference.

The second game of the series is set for 4 p.m. on Saturday with Sunday's finale scheduled for noon.
