A familiar face has returned to the West Virginia University football roster. After announcing his departure from the Mountaineer Football program back in January, William Crest Jr. has decided stay in Morgantown.

Crest Jr. is listed as a wide receiver on the 2017 WVU roster with two years eligibility remaining.

Last season, he split time between quarterback, running back and special teams. As a redshirt sophomore, he played in seven games and finished with four carries for 10 yards. Crest also had nine tackles, all but one were solo stops.

In 2015, Crest saw action in 11 games at quarterback and receiver. He finished with 20 carries for 107 yards and a touchdown. He also completed 11 passes for 124 yards with a long of 45 yards, and  had four catches for 29 yards. He received a medical redshirt in 2014.

It has also been reported that wide receiver Steven Smothers and offensive lineman Dontae Angus have both left the program.
