In the 35th round of the 2017 MLB Draft, another Mountaineer heard his name called as first baseman Jackson Cramer was selected with the No. 1063 overall pick by the Washington Nationals.

The Coppell, Texas, native ended his final season in Gold and Blue with a .270 batting average, 46 RBIs and 11 home runs.

Cramer was named to the Big 12 Conference All-Tournament Team and All-Big 12 Honorable Mention this season, and the Big 12 All-Second Team in 2016. He was also named a finalist for the Baseball Senior CLASS Award, the winner will be announced at the College World Series.

Cramer, one of only two seniors this season, becomes the second Mountaineer drafted by the Nationals, joining the 2014 pick Blake Smith.

Kyle Davis was selected in the 15th round by the Houston Astros.

Davis and Cramer both played in all 62 games this season for West Virginia.
