Man Killed in Eastern Kentucky Shooting

FLOYD COUNTY, KY (WOWK) – Law enforcement are investigating a shooting that took place in Floyd County, Kentucky.

On Tuesday at around 6:45 a.m., investigators with Kentucky State Police Post responded to a fatal shooting in the Auxier area of Floyd County.

The preliminary investigation indicated Brandon Endicott, 35 of Prestonsburg, entered his ex-girlfriend, Krystal Shepherd’s residence.

While in the home, Shepherd discharged a firearm, striking Endicott. 

Endicott left the scene and was located in a neighboring yard, where he had succumbed to his injuries. 

Endicott was pronounced dead at the scene by Floyd County Coroner, Greg Nelson.  Endicott was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Kentucky State Police is continuing to investigate this case.

    • Fire Crews Battle Charleston Fire

      CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - Fire crews are wrapping up a fully-engulfed structure fire in Charleston Friday evening. The fire was reported on the 300 block of 21st Street SE in Charleston at just after 6 p.m. Dispatchers did not know whether the residence was abandoned, or whether it was inhabitated. There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire, and the fire has been knocked out. We will provide more information on this story as soon as we receive it.

      KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) - A body has been found in the Kanawha River. The body was discovered around 11:10 a.m. near Dow Chemical on Blaine Island near South Charleston according to dispatchers. South Charleston Police are currently investigating the incident.       A man has been arrested after a pursuit became a scuffle with law enforcement in Putnam County this morning.

    • Structure Fire Blocking Road in Jefferson, WV

      Emergency crews are on the scene of a structure fire in Kanawha County. The fire was reported in the 6-hundred block of Hampshire Drive in Jefferson. Dispatchers say the road is shut down around the scene. Rail traffic is also being affected. No word on if anyone was home when the fire started around 6:45 a.m. Friday morning.       CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - SWAT Team as well as West Virginia State Troopers are outside of a home in Charleston Thursday night. A shots fired call was reported on the 1600 block of Red Oak Street in Charleston around 9 p.m. A person is at a standoff with officers in that house.       CLAY COUNTY, WV (WVNS) - A teenage girl has been missing since Sunday and troopers need your help finding her. 16-year-old Jaelynn Shae reportedly ran away from her grandmother's home in Clay County.  According to State Troopers she was in state custody and was living with her grandmother.     • Update: Capital High School Cleaning Being Completed, Air Tests to Run Tonight

      CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - 13 News Reporter Alyssa Meisner confirms that Capital High School will be closed for the remainder of the week after 60 classrooms were found to have mold in them. The Kanawha County Health Department says there may be health concerns for students who have breathing issues already and recommend people to go to their primary care doctor. The school will be closed for the remainder of the school week while crews work to clean the mold from the classrooms.

      Huntington Police tell 13 News there is a child death investigation in the city. Cabell County Dispatchers add the investigation is on the 1800 block of 7th avenue.  HPD tell 13 News the age of the child is 3-years-old.
