MORGANTOWN -

The nation is taking notice of what exists in West Virginia’s receiving corps.

On Tuesday, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation added 10 players to its watch list for the Biletnikoff Award and two Mountaineers were recognized – David Sills and Gary Jennings.

Jennings is WVU’s leading receiver through four games, reeling in 29 receptions for 438 yards, each a team-best. While Jennings has just one touchdown to show for all of his production, it is Sills who has found his way into the end zone more than anyone else on the team – and the most receiving touchdowns in the country, for that matter.

The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to the nation’s best pass catcher, regardless of the position. It could go to a wide receiver, tight end, running back or any other player who catches passes, not just from the receiver position.

West Virginia has never had a Biletnikoff Award winner, though both Stedman Bailey and Kevin White were finalists in recent years.

Last season, Oklahoma receiver Dede Westbrook earned the award. This year’s winner will be announced at The Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 7.
