OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - West Virginia second baseman Kyle Gray and outfielder Darius Hill represented the gold and blue on the Big 12 all-tournament team roster, which was announced Sunday.
Gray went 7-for-14 over four games at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, making him one of just six players to finish the week with a batting average of .500 or better.
Hill finished second at the tournament with eight hits, trailing only Baylor's Richard Cunningham, who had nine. Hill hit .444 during the competition.
As a team, West Virginia finished with a .319 batting average, which led all programs. Texas Tech finished second in that category with a .269 average.
No. 5 Baylor defeated No. 6 TCU 6-5 in 11 innings Sunday to claim the Big 12 tournament title.
While five Big 12 teams made this year's NCAA Tournament, the Mountaineers failed to qualify. Their season ends with a 29-27 record.
