West Virginia student-athletes Rylee Foster and Noah Adams have been nominated for Big 12 Athlete of the Year, the conference announced on its Twitter account on Friday.
Each member school has two nominees for each award — a male and female — and the winners will be decided by vote beginning at 6 p.m. ET.
Adams earned the nomination after his historic undefeated season on the wrestling mat. The redshirt sophomore from Coal City, West Virginia won all 32 of his matches for just the third undefeated season in school history, as well as a Big 12 Championship. He was named Big 12 Wrestler of the Year and to the National Wrestling Coaches of America’s All-America first team
Foster was a senior leader on the West Virginia women’s soccer as one of the top goalkeepers in the conference. She was named second team All-Big 12 after helping lift her team to the third round of the NCAA Tournament, and now plays in England for Liverpool.
Voting runs from May 22 through May 26, and will be conducted on Big12Sports.com.
