WATCH: Mountaineers look ahead to road clash with Clemson

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - WVU women’s soccer has already reached a critical juncture in its season.

The Mountaineers hold a 1-2-3 record through the first third of the regular season as they approach a matchup with Clemson, a team riding a three-game winning streak. Head coach Nikki Izzo-Brown said a road-win against a hot team like Clemson could boost the Mountaineers’ confidence.

“We need to win,” said Izzo-Brown. “We’re a program that knows how important the wins are, especially against a program like Clemson that we have so much respect for. We know how dangerous they are.”

WVU is 0-1-3 in away matches this season, while the Tigers are a perfect 2-0 at home. The Mountaineers hope to bounce back from Sunday’s 2-0 loss to No. 11 Georgetown.
