On this week’s episode of the WVU Coaches Show we’re discussing student-athletes building a future with brand marketing expert Jeremy Darlow. We’ll also chat with Dan Stratford on being WVU men’s soccer’s new head coach and how he plans to build an award winning program.
Nick and Anjelica welcome you into the program to discuss the news released earlier in the week that the NCAA Division I Council has granted voluntary workouts for football, men’s and women’s basketball beginning June 1st. Individual conferences and schools are left with the final decision to allow student-athletes to return, or extend the dead period. While this doesn’t necessarily mean that sports are back, it is a positive step in that direction:
WVU Football has partnered with brand consultant Jeremy Darlow. Earlier in the month, WVU announced this partnership to prepare student-athletes to build a brand for themselves after playing football. Darlow has worked with notable clients such as Aaron Rodgers and Snoop Dogg. Darlow also served as the Director of Marketing at Adidas for over eight years. Hear from Darlow and how he plans to help these athletes build a plan to be successful after playing football:
Nick chats with WVU men’s soccer head coach Dan Stratford on how COVID-19 has impacted the team and the loss of the spring season. Stratford touches on what he has learned so far being the head coach for the Mountaineers, and the roster he has inherited. Stratford will also discuss how the state of West Virginia has impacted him personally from playing at WVU to coaching at University of Charleston and now WVU:
Nick wraps up with Coach Stratford and this week’s episode of the WVU Coaches Show with the final word:
