Eagles release former Mountaineer Worley after arrest

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Daryl Worley, who played cornerback at West Virginia from 2013-15, was released by the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday following an arrest.

Multiple sources report Worley was tased and then arrested Sunday morning after he became aggressive toward police. Roughly 12 hours later, the Eagles announced they had released him.

Worley was acquired by the Eagles in March, when the Carolina Panthers sent him to Philadelphia in exchange for wide receiver Torrey Smith. The former third round pick has played in 31 games (including 25 starts) and has compiled 153 tackles, 17 pass deflections, three interceptions and two sacks in the NFL.

In three seasons at West Virginia, Worley totaled 143 tackles and 10 interceptions.
