The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has announced that Bob Huggins is an eligible candidate for their Class of 2020.
Huggins has been a head coach at the Division I level dating back to a five-year stint at Akron beginning in 1984. In the 37 seasons since, he has amassed 869 victories, the fourth-highest total among active Division I head coaches.
He has reached the NCAA Final Four twice with Cincinnati and West Virginia, most recently in 2010.
There are several other notable names eligible for this year’s Hall of Fame class, including former NBA All-Stars Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and current Villanova head coach Jay Wright.
The full class will be announced at the NCAA Final Four in Atlanta in April.
