Huggins, players speak ahead of Spain trip

Top Stories

With some faces both fresh and familiar, West Virginia hoops will be heading overseas for a trio of games in Spain.

While fans will be familiar with many of the players going on the trip, there are plenty of newcomers who will be taking a break from adjusting to WVU to get their first taste of competition with the Mountaineers against some unique opponents.

Miles “Deuce” McBride, a freshman guard, is one of those guys. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, McBride looks forward to the opportunity to test his game against international talent.

McBride is joined by junior college product and fellow newcomer Taz Sherman, who last played for Collin College in Texas. Sherman says West Virginia was a perfect fit for him not only because of his propensity to play defense, but because of many things off the court as well.

Jermaine Haley will return to the Mountaineers this year as a senior. Haley says he is excited for this coming season not only because of his own improvement, but also that of his fellow teammates.
