Women’s hoops stays put in AP poll

The West Virginia University women’s basketball team (6-1, 0-0 Big 12) remains at No. 22 in the latest Associated Press Top-25 Poll, announced Monday.

The Mountaineers received 115 points in this week’s poll to stay at No. 22. West Virginia is eight points behind No. 21 Arkansas and 15 points ahead of No. 23 Tennessee.

WVU and Baylor (8-1), who checked in at No. 7 this week and received 598 points, are the only two Big 12 teams represented in this week’s poll. Non-conference opponent Michigan State (7-2) received 153 points to stay at No. 19 this week.

West Virginia travels to Orlando, Florida, from Dec. 21-22, for a pair of games at the Florida Sunshine Classic. The Mountaineers are set to square off against No. 19 Michigan State on Saturday, Dec. 21, and Syracuse on Sunday, Dec. 22. Both games are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. ET at Rollins College.
