ORIGINAL: West Virginia baseball’s home opener against Canisius has been moved to 4 p.m. due to inclement weather, the team announced Tuesday.
The contest, which was originally slated for 2 p.m., is the earliest home opener in Mountaineer baseball history. That beats out last year’s home opener, which was on Feb. 19, 2019 also against Canisius.
The Mountaineers are looking to stay with their winning ways after going 2-1 to open the season on the road against Jacksonville. Freshman righty Tyler Stretchay is slated to get his first start after making his debut over the weekend, giving up a hit, a walk and a run in 1.1 innings.
