Jerry West is going to have company outside of the WVU Coliseum early next year.

West Virginia University athletic director Shane Lyons announced on his Twitter page earlier this evening that the late “Hot Rod” Hundley will have a statue placed around the exterior of the facility in February of 2016.

Fundraising efforts began in 2013 for Hundley to join West in being honored with a statue outside of the Coliseum as the two represent the only players in Mountaineer men’s basketball history to have their jersey numbers retired.

Hundley passed away on March 27 at the age of 80.
