WVU baseball has added another home game to its schedule.
The Mountaineers will host Canisius Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Monongalia County Ballpark. The contest will mark the earliest game in program history.
The Mountaineers (1-2) and Golden Griffins (1-2) meet for the second consecutive season, after Canisius came to Morgantown twice last year, for a three-game series and a midweek contest. West Virginia won three of four.
WVU comes home after opening the 2019 season at the Atlanta Challenge. The season began with a 5-3 loss at Kennesaw State on Feb. 15 and followed with an 8-2 win at Georgia State and a 5-4 loss in 11 innings at Georgia Tech on Saturday. Due to inclement weather expected in Atlanta on Sunday, West Virginia played three games in two days to open the season at three different opponents.
Admission to Tuesday’s game is free.
