WVU baseball is nationally ranked for the fourth consecutive week, but the Mountaineers did drop in the polls after dropping two of three against TCU.

The Mountaineers appear at No. 21 in the Baseball America poll, their highest ranking this week. The checked in at No. 17 in that same poll a week ago.

The Mountaineers also dropped five spots from No. 17 to No. 22 in the D1Baseball poll.

Other polls in which WVU appears include:

  • No. 20 in the Perfect Game poll, the team’s highest ranking this week
  • No. 21 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll
  • No. 23 in the Coaches Poll

Additionally, WVU is No. 21 in the latest NCAA RPI, down from No. 15 a week ago.

West Virginia (28-17, 11-10) finds itself in fourth place in the Big 12 Conference with one regular season league series remaining. A Darius Hill walk-off homer in Sunday’s 6-5 victory over TCU allowed the Mountaineers to bump their conference record back above .500.

WVU returns to action Wednesday at Virginia Tech, before heading to Kansas State for a three-game weekend series to conclude Big 12 play.
