Darius Hill became the sixth Mountaineer selected in the 2019 MLB Draft when the Chicago Cubs picked him in the 20th round.

Hill capped his senior season by securing multiple program records. The right fielder has played in and started more games than any other Mountaineer, and he also broke Jedd Gyorko’s all-time doubles record with an extra-base hit against George Washington during the final week of the regular season.

Hill joins West Virginia teammates Alek Manoah, Ivan Gonzalez, Nick Snyder, Kade Strowd and Brandon White in the Mountaineers’ 2019 draft class.
