Kade Strowd selected by Orioles in 12th Round

Junior hurler Kade Strowd of West Virginia has been selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 12th round of the 2019 MLB Draft.

Strowd, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, is the fourth Mountaineer selected in this year’s draft, preceded by Alek Manoah, Ivan Gonzalez and Nick Snyder. He finished the season with a 5-6 record and a 4.73 ERA over 15 starts. He was a regular in the starting rotation, and contributed 4.0 shutout innings against Fordham to earn the only save of his Mountaineer career.
