Kade Strowd selected by Orioles in 12th Round

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Junior hurler Kade Strowd of West Virginia has been selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 12th round of the 2019 MLB Draft.

Strowd, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, is the fourth Mountaineer selected in this year's draft, preceded by Alek Manoah, Ivan Gonzalez and Nick Snyder. He finished the season with a 5-6 record and a 4.73 ERA over 15 starts. He was a regular in the starting rotation, and contributed 4.0 shutout innings against Fordham to earn the only save of his Mountaineer career.
