No. 21 Mountaineers look to get back on track at Virginia Tech

WVU Baseball

Even after dropping two out of three games against TCU, WVU Baseball is still in the rankings and hoping to get another bump with a possible win at Virginia Tech.

The Hokies are a half-game above .500 with a 25-24 record, including an underwhelming 8-19 tally in ACC play. This puts them at 6th in the conference’s Coastal Division, in front of only one team — the 18-30 Pitt Panthers.

WVU is looking to stay on the winning track after they lost their first weekend series since their conference opener at Baylor in March. The Mountaineers started the weekend off with a pair of losses to TCU, but were able to salvage a win with a two-out walk-off home run by Darius Hill on Sunday.

Nick Snyder (6-1, 1.93 ERA) returns to the mound for WVU. Snyder turned heads across the nation with a near no-hitter against Marshall on May 1, with the would-be achievement getting spoiled with two outs in the 9th inning.

If you want to watch the Mountaineers’ matchup with the Hokies, it will be live at 6 p.m. on ACC Network Extra, or it can be streamed on the WatchESPN app. You can also listen live on the Mountaineer Sports Network on your local radio affiliate.
