Following their road win Wednesday at Virginia Tech, the no. 20 WVU Mountaineers (29-17 overall, 11-10 Big 12) return to the baseball diamond this weekend for a three-game stretch at Kansas State.
Alek Manoah is the usual Friday starter for WVU. In April, Manoah led the Mountaineer defense maintaining a 3-0 record in four appearances, including two complete games. His performances even earned him NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week honors.
Kansas State is currently sitting 8th in the Big 12 standings with a conference record of 7-11 (24-26 overall). Last weekend they traveled to Baylor, where they dropped the first two games of their series to the Bears. They were able to salvage the last game of their series on Sunday.
Spearheading the Wildcat offense is sophomore outfielder Zach Kokoska, who is hitting .337 so far in 2019. Freshman righty Griffin Hassall (2-2, 3.13 ERA) is expected to start for KSU.
All three of the games this weekend will be streamed live on WatchESPN, or you can listen live on your local affiliate of the Mountaineer Sports Network.
