MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia will face Monmouth in its opening game at the inaugural Myrtle Beach Invitational.
The eight-team bracket for the tournament, which begins Nov. 15, was released Wednesday by ESPN Events.
Monmouth has won the MAAC regular season title two of the last three seasons, while WVU has advanced to the Sweet 16 in back-to-back campaigns.
The Mountaineers and Monmouth are joined on the bottom-half of the bracket by Valparaiso and Western Kentucky. Other teams in the field include Saint Joseph's, Wake Forest, UCF and Cal State Fullerton. Each team will play three games, with the two unbeaten teams meeting in the championship game Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
