Carter assigned to Memphis G League affiliate

Former WVU guard has not appeared for Grizzlies in regular season

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Former Mountaineer Jevon Carter has been assigned to the Memphis Grizzlies' G League affiliate, according to a statement from the team Monday. 

Grizzlies general manager and West Virginia native Chris Wallace announced that Carter will practice with the Memphis Hustle this week during the team's training camp.

Memphis selected Carter with the 32nd pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. The former WVU guard was inactive for the Grizzlies' first two games of the season.

Carter appeared in five preseason games, averaging 2.6 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 11.8 minutes per game. He also started in 10 NBA Summer League games, averaging 10 points per contest. 

Former Mountaineer teammate Daxter Miles Jr. is also preparing to begin his career in the NBA G League with the Northern Arizona Suns.
